Tuscan Home Remodeling with Tile

My husband and I just remodeled our kitchen and main floor bathroom. Decorative tile was an excellent material for transforming the look of our kitchen and bathroom. We’ve had a great experience with our kitchen, bathroom and foyer tile flooring because of its durability and resistance to moisture and scratching. For our exciting home makeover, we decided that we’d install custom natural stone backsplash tile in our kitchen and decorative glass wall tile in our bathroom. We found that tile installation is a space-saving and effective way to change the look and enhance the aesthetics of our kitchen and bathroom.

Marble Stone Backsplash Tile
We chose marble tile for our kitchen backsplash because it naturally complements our Tuscan theme. We choose a simple horizontal design. Because our cabinets, light fixtures and appliances are so upscale, we decided that a traditional tumbled backsplash with diverse natural tones would work best. Our stove spotlights showcase the marble tile and create an elegant appearance. We choose cappuccino-beige tile with soft striations and light grout. The backsplash looks outstanding with our limestone countertop, wood cabinets, recessed lighting and rusted iron chandelier that hangs over our kitchen island. The addition of the marble backsplash tile has wonderfully improved our kitchen’s Tuscan charm, earth tones and Italian décor.

Bathroom Wall Surround
For our main downstairs guest bathroom, we choose glass wall tile in the same earthy and rustic colors as our kitchen. We installed Surface and Décor’s Glass Stone Metal Blend Copper Canyon midway up the wall and painted the remaining wall space with a warm wheat color. The Copper Canyon glass wall tile is defined by its varying deep, rich tones. It contrasts well with the light-colored paint. The tile wall mosaic provides that extra accent that our bathroom needed to match the kitchen. We upgraded our bathroom fixtures with an old-fashioned bathroom sink and vanity. Above the vanity, we installed a wooden mirror and two Tuscan Villa wall sconces on each side of the mirror. We hung two large paintings of Italian scenery on the opposite wall and completed the look with a large artificial plant in the corner of the bathroom.

The results of our tile installations exceeded our expectations. Its versatility is what we most admire about the material. It serves as a beautiful mosaic as well as a durable surface that’s water resistant and easy to maintain. Tile comes in a wide range of colors, patterns and styles, which makes it an ideal choice for any type of wall surround, backsplash or flooring installation!
